This apartment building makes my eyes pop out of my head in a good way. Designed by Dutch architect Ben van Berkel, 5 Franklin Place is noted for curved black bands outlining the perimeter of the building that lend a sense of movement and grace.

Take three of the greatest guitar slayers from the past 40 years. Throw in Davis “Deadwood” Guggenheim and what do you have? The hottest motha-effin’ rock doc that a weak, prissy-pants town like Cannes has ever seen! Making its debut from the sunny resort town, “It Might Get Loud” is already exploding our minds from contemplating what will surely be an incalculable amount of headbanging-awesome at your local fourplex. MIGHT get loud. Puh-leez. Trust us brojams, they’re gonna wish they named this movie “Ear Bleeders” once it’s all said and done.

Chosen for their unique playing styles and contributions to their eras, the doc follows the ax wielders as they presumably melt faces around the world. Daughters will be locked up, balls will hit walls, there will be less talk and more rock etc., etc., etc.

Almost too pretty for words, the Swedish-born Tretorn T56 Poplins are reminiscent of classic canvas Spring Courts and maintain the same spirit of lightness and summer breezes. Scandanavians do design and these are as sleek, simple and permanently contemporary as Helvetica.

While the West Coast usually gets all the credit for inventing modern-day skateboarding, New York’s role in the evolution of the sport has gone largely undocumented. Deathbowl to Downtown tells the story of how New York street skating developed and grew. Check out the trailer here.

Like David Duchovny, we know the truth is out there and the latest unidentified footwear sighting has turned up a blue and gray version of the elusive, Air Yeezy. Officials refuse to comment on the existence of the shoe but we know the truth, dammit.

This song has been making the rounds on music blogs the last few days for good reason. While it’s a b-side this track is the perfect love song for the summer and leaves a good feeling all over after listening. Enjoy.
UPDATE - Gorilla Vs. Bear has turned us on to a free Santogold download from, uh, Bud Light and shared this nice piece of news, which, once you get past the more-British-than-Mary-Poppins-having-sex-with-Charles-Dickens opening paragraph is pretty cool. Especially the part about Pharrell and Julian Casablancas.

$104.2 mil domestic since Thursday + 96.7 mil worldwide since Wednesday = $200 mil in IT’S FIRST WEEKEND! This just proves the tried-and-true theory that Robert Downey Jr. puts asses in seats. L.A. times has the full story.

I think I speak for all Celtics fans when I say, “Pheeeew” as I wipe sweat from my brow. After the loss on Friday night, it had gotten way past the point of ‘okay, this isn’t funny anymore.’ The series shouldn’t have gotten this far but all Boston fans should be thankful that Josh Smith, Steve Urkel and co. are packing up and going home for good. Bring on King James.
